Here comes the gift giving season and I'm always an advocate for shopping locally. I’ve become an avid thrift shopper over the years. I would choose a good thrift shop over any big office name. I've been to some great thrift shops and learned the ins and outs of them. I've created a small list of the local thrift shops around Lake Anna. We are not just talking about Goodwill over here.
Great And Mighty Things:
Location: 19110 Beaver Dam Rd, Beaverdam, VA 23015
This one is a non-profit for a local church. They have great deals on clothes as low as $1. On specific days of the week they have different deals on the items they have in store. They have a kid section with great toys and clothes. The furniture in the store is always great to see and they have an aisle in the back with little glass decor and home trinkets. The clothing section is great for everyday wear and business attire.

This has to be a favorite for me. I go there for their amazing deal of filling a bag of clothes deal, for $9. But they have fabric, toys for kids, a bunch of gizmos and more, in this store. They are one of the few that are also online and you can have items shipped to you! They have such an amazing purpose in life with their business providing extra help to families in need. So it's just a great feeling knowing the times you don't give any light too will provide to a family in need.

There's always something new to find here. Whether it's vintage or a great priced wholesale item. They have a small selection of clothing, you really come here for the objects. The staff is really amazing as well and the prices are out of this world. They have a variety from clothes to electronics to toys. They have something for everyone here, I always love to walk into this one!
Clothes Mentor

As you can assume by the name there are a majority of clothes here. They also have shoes and purses. This is a great place to find nice and trendy pieces of clothing. The prices are very neutral in my opinion, they are low and can be higher. This is a place that will give you money for your donations, they usually have to be within style from the past 1-2 years to keep their store up to date for customers.
Village furniture

I am always amazed when I walk into this store. Majority of what they sell is refurbished furniture they fix up and make new again. The prices reflect that and are very reasonable. They don't only have furniture though! They have a lot of home decor, candles, and fun things for everyone. The people are so nice there and they have sales on specific items which are always fun. Definitely somewhere you have to stop by during the holiday season.

Such a great place to spend your afternoon. This place has something for everyone from new handmade items, antiques, and household decor. They have amazing clothes and purses, some are even designer! They have new and used items with very reasonable prices for both. They offer tons of fun things to start a new hobby, as the winter season approaches us. The best part about this place is that it has pieces hand made by local vendors. This is a must see place for the versatility it offers. They also have a website where you can shop online and pickup in store!
