Summer is slowly coming to an end which means a new season and new holidays are on the rise. Get your home ready early this year by cleaning out and going through these items:
Outdoor and Water Toys
Discard any of your toys that are deflated, damaged, or missing pieces. After inspecting the toys, deflate them and either store them or donate them. While we're already on the topic, might as well go through all the inside toys before the end of the year holidays.
Summer Clothes and Shoes
Donate all your outgrown clothes, sandals, and bathing suits. If you plan to hand down your kids clothes, make sure they are stain free and in good condition to last more seasons. Go through closets, if you didn't wear something all Summer, its time to let it go.
Garden Tool and Supplies
Time to toss all the plants that didn't make it through this seasons heat. Go through all the gardening tools and properly store them in the garage. Correctly dispose of lawn chemicals following your local guidelines.
Grilling Tools
Get rid of the tools you have too many of. Is your grill going to make it another season? If not, hop on those end-of-the-year sales.
Canned Goods and Spices
Clean out your pantry, fridge, and freezer and toss out all the expired foods and spices. Donate foods you over bought this season and won't eat. Make a list of the foods and spices you threw out to replenish them.
School Supplies
If the backpack was never cleaned out, empty it and go through all the supplies, keep what you'll use again this year and donate what you won't. Compare supply lists to make sure you don't over buy when shopping. Many charities and schools are in need of any supplies (backpacks, paper, pencils) that are still in good condition.
First Aid Kit
Go through your medicine cabinets and first aid kits. Fill up anything that's low or empty. Toss the expired items and stock up on over the counter medicines so you'll be ready for anything to come this Fall season.
